Just some general thoughts from some of our patients, and others Sometimes people with epilepsy are arrested for being drunk or disorderly or for resisting arrest, when in fact they are having a seizure and or experiencing post-seizure confusion. Complex partial seizures are often misunderstood. If you wear an emergency medical bracelet or other medical ID this can help prevent this type of inappropriate arrest. If you ARE arrested for seizure behavior, discuss your medical condition with your lawyer and ask him or her to contact your doctor. Often, if the prosecuting attorney's office is made aware of how your seizures affect you, the charges may be dropped. EDUCATION!!! INSTITUTIONALIZATION!
